Things to consider while buying laptop new Laptop

We all have struggled while buying a new laptop. Going through hundreds of online pages comparing different models, selecting one then again finding a better one and the cycle goes on. While buying laptops we shouldn’t just go through the design and just because it looks good doesn’t mean it will perform better. Another myth about the laptop is High Price= High Performance.
There are a few things we should keep in mind while choosing an ideal laptop for you. We are here to help. Following is a list of the things to keep in mind while choosing your dream laptop.
Performance
The first question we should ask ourselves is how are we going to use it? And what tasks are we going to do on that laptop? According to the intensity of tasks, we can divide performance into 3 types.
a) Light use
Those who want a laptop for simple tasks like surfing social media, web, checking daily emails, watching videos online, listening to music come under this type of use. For this type of performance, you don’t need a high-end laptop with a lot of RAM and Internal Storage. You can do these simple tasks on a laptop with a minimum of 2GB of RAM. But we recommend you go for 4GB of ram because you can get it just by investing a little more amount and no one use a laptop with 2 GB memory now.
b) Medium use
Medium Use activities contain all the professional works like attending video conferences, writing emails, basic gaming, and sometimes all of the above tasks simultaneously. For this type of laptop, you should invest more since more space and RAM will increase the processing power of your laptop and it won’t freeze in between tasks.
c) High use
High use activities like Programming, High-end Gaming, Photoshop, and some applications like MATLAB and AutoCAD. These tasks require more Memory and Internal Space to run this software smoothly.
Processor (CPU)
The processor takes your input and after processing that data gives you output. Processor core and clock speed determine how fast your computer will complete the task you have given to it. When you buy a laptop you should always go for multiple cores and high clock speed.
Which processor should you choose? a) For Light Use a Dual-Core processor that will fulfill all your needs. b) For medium Use a Quad-Core processor will be perfect for you. c) For High Use you should choose an Octa-Core processor.
RAM
The more RAM you have The more tasks you can handle at the same time. It’s that simple. From time to time RAM has been involved and become better and better. If your computer has enough RAM to handle all the processes the better it will handle all the tasks you are doing on it. The less ram will slower your computer’s performance and will bring problems like crashing and freezing. So to do all the tasks without facing difficulties update your ram today.
Nowadays computers use a minimum of 4GB of ram below which will make your pc work slow. While choosing RAM you should check what type of RAM it is and if it is upgradable. DDR4 is the latest type of RAM and you should check you get this type or at least DDR3. Don’t settle for less than this RAM. Upgradable RAM will give you an upper hand if you want to add more RAM to your PC.
Which RAM should you buy? a) For light use: — Minimum 4GB RAM B) For medium Use: — Minimum 8GB c) For High use: — Minimum 16GB
Internal Storage
Just like RAM Internal storage plays an important role in how your computer will perform and handle complex tasks simultaneously.
Internal Storage comes in 3 types.
a) HDD (Hard Disk Drive )
This Storage disk contains mechanical moving parts like fans and other components. This doesn’t cost you a lot of money and gives more space for less money but due to its mechanical components, it comes with some limits. This type of Hard Disk Drive can cause problems like heating due to its moving mechanical components.
b) SSHD (Solid-State Hybrid Drive )
This type of Storage is a combination of SSD and HDD. This hard drive gives you both features like more storage with HDD and faster processing with SSD. Which makes it currently the favorite of many PC lovers since it you get both features in a small amount.
c) SSD (Solid State Drive)
This type doesn’t have any mechanical moving parts in it making it help run programs faster than both other types of Internal Storage. This also increases the working efficiency of your Operating System and your Boot-Up time. The only disadvantage of this type of Internal Storage Drive is that it cost you more than both of the other Internal Storage Drives
So, Which one of the Internal Memory you should use?
a) Light use:- HDD (Min 500GB)
b) Medium Use : — SSHD ( Min 128GB SSD and 500GB HDD)
c) Heavy Use :- SSD( Min 1TB )
Display
With all the above operating parts one may think why should I give importance to what type of Display I use? All displays will show the same things. The answer is it changes your experience vastly.
While choosing displays there are a few things we should keep in our mind
a) Resolution
We all have heard in so many advertisements that this TV comes with 4K resolution, and this one is Full HD or Ultra HD and all these things. Which resolution should you choose?
a) Light Use: — HD
b) Medium Use :- Full HD (1080p)
c) Heavy use:- Ultra HD or 4K
It doesn’t matter if you do heavy tasking or light tasking on your laptop a good quality display will always be better.
b) Size
Typically Laptops come with 14 inches or 15.6 inches. Some laptops have a screen size of 11 inches and some can have 17 inches also. Usually, light-use laptops do not come with big screens so while choosing a laptop see which screen size is better for your daily activities and don’t forget you are gonna carry it around so don’t go for a bigger display since it will add more weight to your laptop.
c) Refresh Rate
Light the use = less the refresh rate. It’s that simple. If you are going to use the laptop for gaming go for a high refresh rate.
Operating System
While buying your laptop choose an operating system that is convenient for you. Currently, there are 3 main Operating Systems people use. Windows is the most popular operating system and has the largest userbase compared to other operating systems.
Since the operating system is responsible for the management of all software and hardware and coordinates between all the running programs.

a) Fewer Virus Attacks: –
b) Great Performance and long life
c) Support NTFS and FAT
- Linux
Linux is one of the popular versions of UNIX OS. Since it is open-source it is available for free. Today Linux systems are used from embedded systems to almost all supercomputers. Since it is open source and largely driven by its developer it is considered to be one of the most secure operating systems.
features: –
a) Portability ( can work on different hardware)
b) Open Source

Battery
Battery is one of the most important parts of your laptop since this makes your laptop different than a desktop. The bigger the battery more you can use your laptop without plugging in. Always check what is the battery backup of the laptop you are buying. 9 hours is considered to be good battery life for a laptop whereas for a gaming laptop it is 5–6 hours.
Lithium-ion batteries are considered to be best for laptops since its lightweight and perform better than other types of batteries.
