IPL Mega-Auction 2022

On February 12 and 13, a total of 204 players, including 67 international stars, were sold during the two-day auction as teams completed their jigsaw puzzles. The only teams with 25 players apiece were CSK, KKR, MI, and PBKS.

On day two of the IPL auction, England’s Liam Livingstone emerged as the most popular player.

The England batter was the subject of a heated bidding battle, with Punjab Kings finally paying Rs 11.5 crore.

Odean Smith, a big-hitting all-rounder from the West Indies, was also sold for Rs 6 crore to Punjab Kings.

Shivam Dube, an all-rounder, was purchased by CSK for Rs 4 crore. Finally, Sunrisers Hyderabad paid Rs 4.2 crore for South African Marco Jansen.

Aiden Markram, Jansen’s countryman, was the first player to go under the hammer on day two, and Sunrisers Hyderabad acquired him for Rs 2.60 crore.

CSK signed Devon Conway of New Zealand, while Mumbai Indians paid Rs 2.6 crore for Daniel Sams of Australia.

Raj Angad Bawa, who was named player of the match in the ICC U-19 World Cup final in 2022, has struck gold.

Punjab Kings purchased the all-rounder for Rs 2 crore. Rajvardhan Hangargekar, another India U-19 star, received Rs 1.5 crore from CSK.

The Delhi Capitals made three immediate purchases in the post-lunch session, including India’s U19 World Cup-winning captain Yash Dhull.

Uncapped Indian hitters found a willing audience here.

Delhi Capitals spent Rs 4.20 crore for young Chetan Sakariya and Rs 5.25 crore for left-arm paceman Khaleel Ahmed.

Rajasthan Royals paid Rs 2.60 crore for Navdeep Saini.
