Heard about a security guard scribbling on a $1 million painting?
Well, the news is a …

Who amongst us hasn’t scribbled on a piece of paper during our boring lectures or boring meetings?
A security guard at Yeltsin Center in western Russia also thought of scribbling on something out of boredom but ended up ruining a painting insured for $1.3 million.
The guard used a ballpen to draw eyes on Anna Leporskaya’s “Three Figures.”
Many reports claim that the picture is worth $1.3 million. However, the fact is that the painting is worth far less.
This picture was insured for $1.3 million after the artist died in 1982.
So, does this mean this security guard has to pay $1.3 million?
Apparently not, one article claimed that the restoration of this painting will cost no more than $5000.
The museum has not yet clarified the intentions of the security guard or what action they will take, but let’s not just believe all the headlines we read.
The fact that it was only his first day on the job further tests our sympathy for the otherwise sympathetic vandal.
